Ok so this is how I catch up with the Walstons. I read the blog about once a month & even though I don't get to see you all very often I feel connected. Now about this birth thing - as you know I am trying to lose weight & get in shape in hopes of being pregnant sometime soon & I have to say your oh so colorful description of giving birth scares the hell out of me & it doesn't sound like the pregnancy part is much better....so, when it finally does happen & I call you to tell you that I am finally "with child" I expect you to lie to me & tell me it will be a beautiful experience as I erase your writings from my mind.

We are so blessed to have such a beautiful baby girl in our lives, and equally blessed to have a mother, who with every stroke of the keyboard, can make us laugh, cry and rejoice in every moment of a girl named Stella Walston. Thank you Natalie. And Stella I cannot describe the joy that filled my heart the moment I saw you. While driving very near a hundred miles an hour to get from the bay area to your hospital room I dared death and any cop who attempted to stop me from getting to see my new born niece. You were so beautiful and still are. Your birth was such a joyous occasion and changed all of our lives forever.

What a wonderfully sweet walk down memory lane. I know it sounds cliche' but it just seems like it was yesterday. Although looking at our adorable three year old Stella Marie just reminds you how fast time flies by. Sharing that experience will always be a very special memory close to my heart.

Natalie, thank you so much for this! You made me feel like I was there--and now I'm off to the faculty restroom to make sure my waterproof mascara hasn't failed!
